The Michelle Danner Acting Studio’s philosophy is that artists can draw upon all different acting techniques and form an individual toolbox, their own Golden Box. We will help you to develop your own “Golden Box” of techniques and tools that you can use when approaching a role or a scene, whether it be for film, television, or theater. The Acting School’s acting techniques are based on Meisner, Strasberg, Adler, Hagen, Chekhov & the Stanislavsky Technique.
Students may select from our course offerings and customize their own programs for a well-rounded training.
The following are examples of classes that can be selected:
The Actor’s “Golden Box”: Two-Day Acting Technique seminar with Michelle Danner
You will accumulate a comprehensive set of “acting tools” to use when approaching a role or a scene, whether it be for film, television, or theater. Discover the answers to the following questions: Why are some choices more powerful than others? How does one deliver a raw unforgettable performance? What specific tools can be applied to film, television, and stage work? How does one develop a personal story from scratch?
Michelle Danner’s experience in the industry as an actor and coach of Oscar nominated actors gives her a unique insight into the world of acting!
Auditioning for Film & Television: On Camera class:
You will practice in front of the camera with sides from movies and TV shows ranging from comedy, sitcom, romantic comedy, slapstick, and all genres of dramatic writing.
Explores the MEISNER, STRASBERG, and STELLA ADLER acting techniques.
Breaking into Hollywood: The business of acting
The must know business aspects of launching your acting career and marketing yourself.
A scene study class is offered to beginners, intermediates & advanced students.
Actors are taught the foundations of technique through opening emotional exercises which are used to warm up the actor’s instrument and teach the tools that will be applied to their scene work. Students explore how to apply their back story to the characters they are creating by working on contemporary and classical scenes and monologues. Emphasis is placed on learning how to make the best physical, emotional, and vocal choices.
Get out of your own head through fun improvisational games and exercises. Discover characters you never knew you could play by being thrown into situations where you don’t have time to think. Become more confident in you as a performer by taking chances in a non-judgmental environment.
Voice and Speech Intensive
Have you experienced one or more of the following? People can’t hear you on stage- your voice has no power. You get emotional and your voice closes or pitches up. You have trouble connecting emotionally to material. Your stomach tightens right before you perform and you can’t breathe. Your voice is breathy-throaty-weak or high pitched. An intensive course for foreign-accented actors who need or want to sound American.
Film Script Analysis:
Analyze film scripts and work on scenes from different genres of screenplays, television, and plays. Students will learn and work through a thorough comprehension of breaking down story, characters, conflicts, and language from dramatic and comedic scripts. There will be in depth discussion of all the tools an actor applies to create their performance. The class will help to acquire the discipline to make powerful choices whether you are auditioning for a project or have booked the part.

INDIEGOGO PROJECT IS UNDERWAY
Manny’s a canine-whispering bank robber with an odd partner in crime: his smart, eager, mixed-breed dog, Bandit. A fake bomb and a note is all this furry thief needs to pull off heist after heist. But when the police catch up with Manny and his dim-witted heavy William, Bandit stalls the cops just long enough for his master to get away. Unfortunately, that buys Bandit a one-way ticket to the pound. Months later, ten-year-old Owen and his mother Joanne decide to adopt a dog from the local rescue center. Joanne relocated them from the Midwest to the affluent beach community of Santa Monica, California after her husband’s recent death, and feels a dog will help Owen adjust to the tough changes. And Owen instantly falls in love with this scruffy, nameless pooch. But when Joanne loses her job, the adopted dog starts bringing home money. Lots of money. It’s Bandit, trying to do what he does best to make his new family happy.
Owen thinks he’s got the best dog ever, and that they were meant to be together. He starts using the cash Bandit brings home not only to help his mom, but to buy popularity in the neighborhood and win the heart of Susan, his adorable new friend from the other side of the tracks. But after a mysterious armored car robbery makes the news, Manny realizes Bandit is back in business. And he’ll do anything to see his four-footed goldmine returned, even if it means Owen and Joanne have to go. Hilarious, heartwarming and with a dash of thrills, THE BANDIT HOUND is a touching family tale about the choices and sacrifices we make for the ones we love. THE BANDIT HOUND is a family movie that is for both kids and adults. There will be several cameos for dogs. All In Films auditioned over thirty dogs and found the perfect “Bandit” and his love interest “Lula”. “Bandit” has the just right mix of mischievousness and humanity and “Lula” is adorable. The adults are not the only ones to find love, so do the kids and dogs. The actors will create three dimensional characters that will lead to a colorful movie. It’s a family movie with a great story to tell and great demographic for everyone
