Film Synopsis: What Is Double Trouble About?
Film student Lisa Yáo has a problem. Her documentary is due in three weeks, and she has just received a cease and desist letter from her subject, Elijah Wood.
She deftly pivots her attention to his foot double, Rupert, from the recent juggernaut series The Lord of the Rings.
Rupert, a sweet but naive man-child from a small German village who happens to have natural hobbit feet, immediately says yes to documenting his dream of taking on Hollywood.
As his antics threaten to derail her entire project, Lisa’s attempts to control him backfire badly. Ultimately, she is forced to decide what is more important: a true friendship or a transactional one.
A last-ditch effort to save both her film and her friendship leads her to wrangle Rupert’s idol, Quentin Tarantino, into a clandestine meeting between the two that will change all of their lives.
