Established well known actor Hugo Diego lends his acting chops to Hollywood film starring opposite of ‘The Incredible Hulk’
WHAT FIRST DREW YOU TO ACTING?
I’ve always had a passion for movies and a desire to live life to the fullest. I watched tons of movies as a child like The Deer Hunter and The Godfather. And even though at the time, I didn’t fully understand those movies, I still rented them everyday and loved them. Even in school, I was notorious for skipping class when we had presentations just to go to the theater with my best friend.
Later, I bought my first camera and made several short films. I was always shooting something. Then in my teens, I took a break and decided that I wanted to become a lawyer, earning my law degree in France, but when I turned 18, I realized that something would be missing and I would be doomed to boredom if acting wasn’t in my life. So I decided to change course and that’s when my real adventure started. I performed in theater for several cities and booked six shorts, one web-series and one feature film, which was selected in a film festival and will premiere in theaters this year!
WHAT WAS YOUR PERFORMANCE EDUCATION LIKE?
My acting education initially came from performing in theater so much as a child and watching so many movies. But I later would take acting classes in the evening, perform in professional work and study full time at two great acting schools in Paris. One of them even offered me a scholarship after several rounds of auditions.
I then came to Los Angeles to perfect my skills at one of the Best Schools in Los Angeles, the Michelle Danner Acting School.
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR ASPIRING ACTORS?
If you ask for permission to be an actor, then you are not ready. And don’t let people who know nothing about it tell you what to believe. Don’t waste your time.
And for our readers, please look forward to more interviews with aspiring actors and dreamers as we share what stories our students bring from their homes and journeys. More to come from Michelle Danner’s acting school !
