Carolin Pech
We are here with Carolin Pech, who just entered into the six-month program at the Edgemar Center.
What first drew you to acting?
I actually started off by dancing and singing but my first moment into acting was when I went to an audition for the film adaption of a book as a kid. I was so excited to even get through the first round that I realized that I wanted to improve and at some point and become that one who actually gets the part!
What was your performance education like?
At the age of six, I started to dance competitively. I later got involved with the theatre and choir at my school, took singing lessons and after I finished high school, I got a diploma as a musical theatre performer. Now I’m here [the Edgemar Center] entering the six-month program, THE MICHELLE DANNER LOS ANGELES ACTING SCHOOL to just focus on TAKING ACTING CLASSES.
Which actors do you draw inspiration from?
I think there are tons of actors you can draw different inspiration from but if I had to name some of them: Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, Lea Michele, Angela Lansbury, Sandra Bullock and so many more!
How was your experience at the Michelle Danner Los Angeles acting studio?
“Looking back I’m really glad I did the 6 month program at the Michelle Danner Los Angeles acting school at the Edgemar Center for the Arts. I had so much fun with all the different acting classes, met a lot of great actors from all over the world and gained a lot more self-confidence.
Also training in another language was a great experience as well as a challenge. The fact that I could attend events like the Edgemar Film Festival and to do some acting work on a film sets made this experience a lot more special! To sum it up… It was worth it.”
Which of your roles have given you the most satisfaction? Why?
Actually there were two. One was playing “Elle” in the musical Legally Blonde because it was such a fun role on every level. And the other part was in an original German piece called Jenny who was a victim of sexual abuse in a psychiatric ward. It was such a challenge in regards to the acting and I learned a lot about myself.
Do you have any future projects planned?
I hope I will be able to do a whole lot of different projects but right now I don’t have anything specific planned because I really want to concentrate on improving my craft with the ACTING CLASSES IN LOS ANGELES that I’m taking. But you’ll never know what’ will come your way. It always works out differently than you planned so I’ll always keep my eyes open…
If you could co-star with anyone, who would you chose? Why?
Jennifer Lawrence if they were female and Christoph Waltz if they were male. Both of them have such an effortlessness and truthfulness to their performances, which in my opinion are qualities every performance should have. Both of them get so much praise for their work but they still come off as funny, humble, down to earth people.
What are you goals for the future?
My first concern is becoming a confident and well-rounded performer who could go to an audition trusting that she is good enough to get the job. Other than that, I hope to someday to do the best of both worlds: Film/TV, Musical Theatre and meet a lot more amazing people like those I met at Michelle Danner’s LOS ANGELES ACTING school. Who knows? Maybe we’ll work together at some point! Here’s looking at ya!
Do you have any advice for aspiring actors?
If you want to do this, just go for it. Just be sure that you’re in it with all your heart because you will face a lot of obstacles, challenges, sacrifices and tears along the way. Also make sure to surround yourself with a group of loving, caring and supportive people! You’ll need them sooner than you’ll realize. Other than that, enjoy the ups, downs and bumps you’ll experience on the crazy ride of becoming an actor.
And for our readers, please look forward to more interviews with aspiring actors and dreamers as we share what stories our students bring from their homes and journeys. More to come from THE MICHELLE DANNER’s LOS ANGELES ACTING SCHOOL!
