It is truly a unique learning experience which will prepare you for shooting in the real world and further education in this field!The FILM MAKING CLASS is an immersive, collaborative course designed to put our students to work. Directors, Producers, and Actors are teamed together and tasked with creating a professional level short film.
Students will go through pre-production, shooting, and post-production to deliver a polished finished work. Student directors will be responsible for writing, directing and acting. The course culminates in a screening of the students’ final films, which is open to cast, crew, family, and friends. Upon the successful completion of the course, students take home a digital master tape of all their projects.
Students are devoted to the study of five primary elements of filmmaking: writing, directing, editing, acting and producing. Students will apply the concepts they learn in class to write, produce, direct, and edit two short film exercises, using HD cameras (Canon C100 and C300). Each short film is of 6 to 8 minutes with multiple tracks of sound including ambiance, sound effects and voice over.
